The Benedict Arnold Of U.S. Soccer

By Dr. Soccer

After wrestling with the decision about whether I should go operate on an emergency kidney replacement or which 2010 World Cup storyline to make a list out of, I decided that my voice needed to be heard.  Some other doctor, who will remain nameless, likes to be the hero in every situation so I know he’ll come through and save the day.  It gets annoying.  Anyway, here’s what I have to say about the Benedict Arnold of U.S. Soccer:

The Top 5 Reasons New Jersey Native Giuseppe Rossi Regrets Attempting To Play For The Italian National Team Instead Of The Country He Was Raised In

1.  Because he’s out thousands of dollars on the non-refundable Rosetta Stone “Learn Italian” DVDs.

2.  Instead of sitting on his couch right now watching reruns of “The Sopranos,” he’d be preparing to start against Algeria to help us advance out of our group.

3.  One day, the goal he scored against the U.S. in last summer’s Confederation Cup will eventually get him knifed by a drunken, irate member of the American Outlaws.

4.  Because he can only blame himself unlike current starting Serbia and Borussia Dortmund center back and American-bred Nevan Subotic, who blames U.S U-20 National Team Coach Thomas Rongen (pictured above) for his disillusionment with U.S. Soccer and the reason he switched allegiances.  Nice work, Thomas!

5.  And finally, the biggest regret Giuseppe Rossi will have by choosing Italy over the U.S. is that he could have been the biggest thing to come out of New Jersey since this guy!

We are rocking the 2010 World Cup non-stop for your entertainment purposes only so feel free to be entertained.  Also, please know that if we could have a bowl of mints for you to chew on post-reading, we would.

Thomas Rongen is actually Dutch. All he cares about are tulips, clogs, and windmills.
